Leadership Team
Director | Dr Vijay Pawar
Vijay’s research focuses on developing intelligent robotic technologies that extend human sensing, interaction and exploration in new scale domains. At one extreme this embraces devices to micro-manipulate cell-sized objects useful in applications from material science to high-throughput microscopy and nanomedicine (ES/T011866/1). Progressing up the scales, the team investigates multisensory tools and high frequency controllers suited to human scale dexterous manipulation (EP/R005338/1). Through the Autonomous Manufacturing Lab, current work includes autonomous mobile manufacturing systems operating collectively to assemble large-scale structures (EP/S031464/1). Vijay’s work has led to high-impact publications in Nat. Comms and Sci. Robotics.
